Excited about the future

The understanding of chromosomes and genomes of organisms has been gifted to us by all the fundamental genetics forefathers who were active from Aristotle to the early 2000s. Although not very apparent currently, our comprehension of genes and transposable elements is expected to reach newer heights with every RNAseq project and every genome that is sequenced and annotated. It is exciting to witness the creation of terabytes of data that future scientists can use and interact with to find answers to questions that might not even be envisioned by us, the dataset creators. For the first time in the history of genetics, we are creating millions of toolboxes and sandboxes to create small puzzle pieces that can be connected to form one big, dynamic, and ever-evolving NFT of the cosmos.
